bio

From a young age I've always been capturing images. I loved running around with my Holga grabbing abstract shadows on brick walls trying to find little monsters in smokey outlines. I tried my hand at big budget films and failed miserably when I realized that working on a 200 person crew tends to get you lost in the shuffle. I am too much in love with working in a smaller creative group. I love finding the image by myself or working with a core group of passionate people.

I love light. I often find myself getting sidetracked driving down the street by the smallest ray of sun streaking through a broken piece of concrete or bouncing off a window. I've always wanted to be able to paint... but I admit I can't. Painting with light though... it always seemed to make sense to me. It doesn't matter if it's the soft glow from a late afternoon sun across someone's face or the harsh pop of a strobe hitting a bright red shoe... light never ceases to challenge and amaze me.

I'm still looking for a vision. I'm not worried though because I don't expect to ever completely find it. My images will always be evolve with better technology, life experience and timing. The combinations are truly endless so I refuse to lock into one style. I want to have freedom to see the world in new ways. I sometimes feel like I've cheated the system when I realize that I’m paid to go out and meet fantastic people and take their picture. People are awesome and getting to peer into their world for a little bit in order to grab one frame of their life is truly a gift and I am humbled each day I get to wake up and do it again.
